Step 02 · Write to your representative

One letter, in your own name.

Elected officials count their letters. A short, polite message from a real constituent carries more weight than any petition. Fill in your details, change anything you like, then send it.

What makes a letter count

  1. Include your town or postcode. Offices give priority to people they represent.
  2. Keep it short and polite. One page, three clear questions.
  3. Add one sentence of your own. Why this matters to you is what a staffer remembers.
  4. Ask for a reply. A question needs an answer; an opinion only needs a tally.
  5. Write again. Follow up if you hear nothing within a month.
